| A BRIEF HISTORY OF RHYME.... The fourth part of the Zoid and Krom story 1998 - Zoid purchases a CD-writer, and noticing that the master copies of 'Anialate' and 'Space Time' are disintegrating, decides to archive choice Zoid and Krom tracks thus "preserving the bass for future generations". The result is 'Bass 1999' the first Zoid and Krom material to appear on CD. 1999 - With their interest in rap re-kindled, the album 'Bass In the 21st century' is recorded in early 1999 during drunken weekends at the Burnham Beat Exchange (Zoid's flat). Tracks like 'Da Mic' showcased the band's now trademark eclectic mix of pop hooks and old-school beats. Other songs, 'I Robot', for instance, are the result of what happens when you lock Krom in a room with four cans of Stella. Later that same year, using tracks taken from the album, the band achieve the covetted number one spot at in Audiogalxy's online Hip Hop chart. 2000 - With laid back, south central, Bournville homie 'Tha G' now permanently on board, its appropriate that the next album 'Vanden Plas' is named after to his legendary automobile, a 1.3 Litre Rover Metro (Vanden Plas Edition). 2001 - With Krom's hectic work schedule cramping his lager consumption, he spends much of early 2001 eating pasties. Consequently, he is periphery figure on the harder, funk-edged album 'Another Piece of Hip Hop Pie', the recording of which is split between Zoid's bedroom in Burnham and his parent's house. 2002 - The compilation album 'Dem Drumz Dem Riddimz' is released, featuring the best album tracks and b-sides produced by the band over the last three years.
